Shanon Crews
Director at large
Acadia has been home for Shanon since moving from the US in 2013. Originally from Milwaukee Wisconsin, her upbringing led her to many different parts of the US including Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and South Dakota. This exposure and frequent movement provided her with a real appreciation of community spirit and the importance of inclusion.
Living in Acadia for 10+ years has been a great opportunity to see not only growth in the community but also the wonderful sense of togetherness that Acadia brings. She and her husband are proud to call Acadia home and raise their twin daughters there. The amenities and accessibility are a perfect fit for a busy family.
Shanon holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from NSU in Aberdeen, SD where she studied music and theatre. Through the arts, she feels a strong connection to community as music and theatre truly bring people together.
Since 2013 Shanon has worked in the finance department for a small technology driven oil and gas service company. In this role she has successfully assisted her company in grant approval from various government grant programs and is eager to apply this knowledge and experience to help Acadia bring much needed funding to the community to continue building a bright future for its residents.
In her spare time, Shanon and her family love exploring the outdoors through camping, canoeing, and biking. As well as taking in the local music, arts, and culture scene as much as possible. You’ll often find their twins joining (or creating) the chaos at the park across the ARC.
